”Look on the bright side! At least you didn't lose both arms!”
NAME,
Pain Banek
NICKNAMES,
“Hey, can you help me with this?” seems to get her attention pretty well….
GENDER,
Female
AGE,
17
VILLAGE,
Månen
“Um...my bad?”
APPEARANCE,
Possessing very wide, childlike green eyes and long blonde hair that never seems to find its way into braids, Pain doesn’t really look all that intimidating. She’s rather thin, too, standing at an average height of 5’6”, she isn’t necessarily what you might expect a rough ‘n’ tough Viking to look like. But don’t let that fool you. What she lacks in strength, skill and speed, she more than makes up for with a recklessly fearless attitude, charging into battle using whatever she might have on hand, whether it’s a broad sword or a frying pan. Pain isn’t the most skilled Viking around, for sure, but neither is she the worst. She’s strictly mediocre when it comes to combat, and so far, it’s served her well. She dresses in your classic Viking style; furs, metal and leather, nothing real unusual about that. The only thing that might make Pain stand out in a crowd is the unrelenting smile and general aura of glee that seems to follow in her wake.
“Of course I can help you with that! Just…let me add it to the list….”
PERSONALITY,
► brave » Pain is someone who will run headfirst into danger without a second thought; although, it should be noted that there is a debate in the village about whether this is truly bravery, or simply an inability to recognize danger.
► easily influenced » Since Pain is always seeing the best in others, she trusts people very easily, and can be swayed to one opinion or another very easily. She doesn’t like to let people down, so even in cases where she might disagree with something, she’ll usually prefer to take the path of least resistance than fight against what everyone else is doing.
► eager to please » Always striving to get people to like her and make everyone around her happy, Pain is easily pushed around and is constantly doing odd jobs or errands for people. She’s very passive and tends to avoid conflict, and is someone who never really learned how to say ‘no.’
► naive » Pain tends to always see the good in people, and has trouble telling when people are lying. She’s very easily fooled and tends to forgive people very easily, making her something of a push-over.
► outgoing » Not shy or withdrawn in the least, Pain is friendly and likes to meet new people, and never hesitates to approach anyone to get to know them better.
► impulsive » Acting in the spur of the moment, she rarely thinks anything through and tends to just go with whatever idea pops into her head, never thinking of the consequences beforehand.
► easy-going » Not one to strike up a conflict, Pain tends to go with the flow, and doesn't really like to be part of any decision-making process. She's pretty simple-minded, and would always prefer to follow orders than make a choice.

"Oh, don’t worry about me! I’m okay, really!"
BACKGROUND,
There’s nothing really unusual or special about Pain’s upbringing; she was the third child of six, so growing up, she didn’t really get a lot of attention, but she was okay with that. With six kids running around, it was never unusual for Pain to be referred to as 'just another Banek kid,' from the time she was little. Her mother and father were usually busy with the younger kids, or with fighting dragons, so Pain took to following her older siblings around, who, in turn, took to bossing her around. They would have her run around doing chores, errands, and even going on wild goose chases so that they wouldn’t have a little kid tagging along after them all the time, even making a game out of who could come up tasks that would take her longer. As she got older, she just got so used to being constantly busy that whenever she would someone who needed help, if she didn't have anything to do, she couldn't help but offer to assist them.
Over time, people just got used to asking Pain to do things for them if they needed help, and she would never dream of saying no…it’s not like anyone ever asked for much, after all. It was just, ‘run this message over to Eirik across town, won’t you?’ or ‘pick up a few fish for me at the market if you’re going that way?’ And seeing how it made everyone smile when she helped them, how could Pain say no? Even if she was already running errands for twenty other people…what was just one more? Besides, the odd thing was, Pain really just enjoyed doing simple tasks and following orders; it was certainly easier than trying what to do for herself, that was for sure.
She started dragon training at the same time as everyone else, and she was never really anything special, as always, she was more of an afterthought than an actual contender in the ring. But she didn’t screw up too badly, and she didn’t seem to get in anyone’s way, so she passed in a very average manner. Even at home, Pain doesn’t really stand out, just kind of fades into the background of her many brothers and sisters, and honestly, it doesn’t seem to bother her. She likes her siblings and she isn't one who's prone to jealousy, preferring to remain happy and try to help everyone else remain positive too. She doesn't want anyone to think that she's a burden, after all.
